May 1, 1946 — June 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Jo-Ann Fidak-Oliveira announces her passing on June 21, 2026, at the age of 80. Jo-Ann was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family. Born on May 1, 1946, in Steubenville, Ohio, to John Fidak Sr. and Carol Church-Fidak, Jo-Ann spent her early years surrounded by the love and support of her family. Her parents and her brother, Johnny Fidak, predeceased her, but their memories lived on in the stories she shared with her loved ones. Jo-Ann's journey through life was marked by her deep devotion to her family. She married her beloved Robert (Bob) Oliveira at the tender age of 16, on November 30, 1962. Together, they embarked on a lifelong adventure that spanned 52 years, raising two daughters, Robbie-Ann and Debbie, and creating a household filled with love and laughter. Their love story was a testament to enduring partnership and commitment. A dedicated mother, Jo-Ann was also a proud grandmother to Danielle her husband Jeff, and a great-grandmother to Logan, Olive, and Noah. Her family was her greatest joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. Jo-Ann's journey took her to Azusa, California, where she later married her husband at the early age of 16 and had her first daughter at 17 and second daughter at 18. Her love of family was one of the many ways she brought beauty and joy into the lives of those around her. Jo-Ann's life was enriched by her love of music and dance, particularly the Oldie's but Goodies that she would lovingly sing along to. Her playful spirit shone through in games she enjoyed with her daughters, creating memories filled with joy and laughter. Her love for animals, especially cherished grand-dogs, Sadie and Kobie-Star, and Willow was another testament to her nurturing nature. For those who wish to honor Jo-Ann's memory, the family suggests donations be made to (ALA) American Lung Association in her name. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we cherish the love and memories she leaves with us. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will forever be etched in our hearts.
