Jimmy Paul Lyle
April 2, 1946 — July 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Paul Lyle age 80, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on July 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 2, 1946, Jimmy lived a life full of love, laughter, and countless stories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jimmy was the cherished son of Bunn and Ozell Lyle, who predeceased him, along with his brother, Bill Lyle. He is survived by Margie, his devoted wife of 56 years, with whom he shared a beautiful journey since their marriage on July 10, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with joy and adventure in Little Rock before settling in Beebe.
A proud graduate of Mabelvale High School, Jimmy served honorably in the Army Reserve, where he honed his skills as a diesel mechanic. His career as a truck driver saw him work with notable companies such as Bruce Oakley, Maverick, and eventually Land O' Frost, where he received multiple accolades for his exceptional safety record. His dedication and work ethic were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Jimmy was a man of many talents and passions. In his youth, he liked to ride horses and he reveled in the thrill of dirt bike racing and motorcycle riding. He possessed an innate ability to fix anything, spending time under the hood of a vehicle. But above all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends, weaving a tapestry of stories and memories that will be fondly remembered.
His sense of humor and gift for storytelling were legendary, and his warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Jimmy's strong relationships and willingness to help those in need defined his character. He was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort, always ready with a joke or a helping hand.
Jimmy's legacy lives on through his loving family: his daughter, Missy Newcomb and her husband Robbie; his son, Drew Lyle and his wife Lorinda; his brother, Johnny Lyle and his wife Susie; his two treasured grandchildren; and his adored great-grandson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of close friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, AR. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and social worker of Lifetouch Hospice, as well as the devoted caregiver who supported Jimmy's needs at home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an organization of your choice. True to his nature, Jimmy always encouraged those around him to remember the good times and to laugh, rather than dwell on sadness. Let us honor his memory by embracing the joy he brought into our lives.
Rest in peace, dear Jimmy. You will forever remain in our hearts.
