In Loving Memory

Jimmy Meronek
October 23, 1957 — July 10, 2026
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Lee Meronek, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on July 10, 2026, at the age of 68. Born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 23, 1957, Jim was the cherished son of Alfred and Florence Meronek. He departed this life surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Jim was a proud graduate of James Madison High School, where he completed his education in 1976. Soon thereafter, he began a nearly 39-year-long career at Briggs and Stratton, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a cherished colleague. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his dedication to his family and community.
In 1981, Jim married the love of his life, Beverly Brierly, on a beautiful October 31st, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey together that spanned nearly 45 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Austin Meronek (special friend, Samantha) and Renee, who married Justin Day. Jim's family was his pride and joy, and he took immense pleasure in being an active and loving grandfather to his four grandchildren: Baylee Meronek, Gracelynn Day, Alfred Day, and Wesley Day.
Jim was a man of quiet strength and boundless generosity. Known for his selflessness, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered for his unwavering support and love for his family. Whether attending his grandchildren's events or cheering on his favorite teams, the Brewers and Packers, Jim's presence was a constant source of warmth and encouragement.
Preceded in death by his dear mother, Florence, and his in-laws, Irba and Loretta Brierly, Jim leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; his children, Austin (Samantha) and Renee (Justin) Day; his grandchildren, Baylee, Gracelynn, Alfred, and Wesley; and his siblings, Donald (Jennifer) Meronek, Teri Meronek, and Robert (Marie) Meronek. Jim's extended family and many friends will continue to celebrate his life and the love he shared with them.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Luke's Neuro ICU for their compassionate care during Jim's final days.
Jimmy Meronek's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and selflessness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
