Jimmy Lee Thomas

Jimmy Lee Thomas, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, surrounded by the unconditional love of his children. Born on December 13, 1943, Jimmy was the cherished son of Claude and Bernice Thomas, who predeceased him along with his spouses, LaVatta Hill Thomas and Diane Love Thomas, his sisters Louise Gooden, Claudia Bolton, Virger Thomas Golightly, and Lanelle Lloyd, his son Herman Hill, and a grandson, JaMarcus Thomas. Jimmy proudly served his country in the Navy, a testament to his dedication and love for community and country. After his military service, he committed countless years to a successful career at BellSouth and AT&T, where his work ethic and friendly nature left an indelible mark on his colleagues and friends. A man of simple joys, Jimmy found immense happiness in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who could often be found by the water, casting his line in peaceful contemplation. His garden was another passion, a place where he nurtured life and beauty, much as he did with his relationships. Above all, he treasured the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience through his surviving family members: four devoted daughters, Lendora Thomas, Lolita Cason (Bobby), Rosaline Montgomery (Terance), and Laticia Woodruff (Patrick), and four loving sons, Denard E. Lipscomb, Elton E. Thomas (Julia), Jimmy L. Thomas (Sharmon), and Jearld Thomas. He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren, including Tony, Derrell (Tacara), La'Kisha, Roddrick, Deandre, Jay, Brenton, Quinisha, Jabrel (Deidre), Jeremy, Jessica (LeQuenton), Terrance, LaKendria (Kenneth), Aisha, Jimmy, Meagan, and Jordan. His legacy continues through 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jimmy's generous spirit. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nursing and doctor staff at Princeton Baptist Health for their unwavering love and support in caring for Jimmy. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
