Jimmy Lee Henry

April 23, 1947 — May 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet with profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy Lee Henry. Jimmy departed this world on May 4, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Born on April 23, 1947, in the charming town of Maryville, Tennessee, Jimmy was the cherished son of Rev. JD Cecil Henry and Edith Campbell Henry, who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Jonathan, Jackie, Larry, and his sister, Sharon. Jimmy's life was a testament to the values instilled in him by his parents. He grew up embracing the virtues of faith, family, and friendship, which would guide him throughout his journey. An avid golfer with a love for the serene greens, Jimmy found joy and camaraderie on the golf course, where he often basked in the company of his close friends. His passion for the sport was only surpassed by his dedication to his faith; a devout Christian, Jimmy’s love for the Lord was a cornerstone of his life. For 59 wonderful years, Jimmy shared his life with his beloved wife, Evelyn. Their union was blessed with five children: Brenda, April, Mark, Stacy, and Melissa, each of whom carries forward the values and love imparted by their father. Jimmy's family grew to include 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each a testament to his enduring legacy. His love extended beyond his immediate family to include his devoted daughter-in-law Kristi, who was like a daughter to him, and his sister-in-law Kim, who shared a special bond with Jimmy. Jimmy's warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew him. Among his closest friends were Jo Ann and Sheri Hatcher and Jim and Carolyn Wilson, who shared many cherished moments with him. His surviving sisters, Aundra, Sue, and Barbara, along with his extensive extended family and friends, will hold his memory close to their hearts, celebrating the joy and love he brought into their lives. In his final days, Jimmy was surrounded by the love and care of many, and his family extends their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers, friends, and loved ones who offered thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement during his time of illness. Your kindness and support have been a comfort and blessing to our family. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Jimmy's life and legacy. As we grieve his passing, we find solace in the words, "absent from the body, present with the Lord," knowing that Jimmy is now at peace in the loving embrace of his Savior. Though we mourn his loss, we celebrate the remarkable life of a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and faithful friend. Jimmy Lee Henry's spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
