In loving memory, we honor the life of Jimmy Lee Dixon, a cherished father, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 29, 1948, in the heart of Phenix City, Alabama, Jimmy was a beacon of warmth and resilience, whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Jimmy was the beloved son of the late Johnny and Louise Dixon, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. He was predeceased by his five brothers—Clyde, Johnny, Randy, Jerry, and Leroy—each of whom held a special place in his heart and now join him in eternal rest.
A devoted father, Jimmy leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His four children, Johan Dixon of Columbus, Georgia; Latryce Horace of Columbus, Georgia; Jarvis Horace of Phenix City, Alabama; and Xaveria Horace of Phenix City, Alabama, were the pride and joy of his life. He was a guiding light for them, offering wisdom and unwavering support.
Jimmy is also survived by two brothers, Willie Lee (Angelia) Dixon of Southfield, Michigan, and Bruce Dixon of Oakland, California, as well as his dear sisters, Ella Seay of Columbus, Georgia; Patricia Riggins of Phenix City, Alabama; Irma (Bobby) Toombs of Phenix City, Alabama; Shelia (Thomas) Cook of Phenix City, Alabama; Barbara (Sidney) Thomas of Phenix City, Alabama; and Vonda (Cleveland) Newsome of Phenix City, Alabama. His extended family includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss his infectious laughter and kind spirit.
Throughout his career, Jimmy dedicated over 30 years to his work as a printer at Litho-Krome in Columbus, Georgia. His commitment to excellence and meticulous attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Jimmy's work was not just a job, but a testament to his dedication and passion.
A proud grandfather to six grandchildren, he found immense joy in their company, always eager to share stories and impart wisdom. Though he did not have the opportunity to welcome great-grandchildren, his legacy will undoubtedly live on through the generations.
