It is with deep sorrow and loving memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Jimmy Lee Darling II, who left this world on September 14, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on September 23, 1972, in San Bernardino, California, Jimmy was a beacon of light and joy, enriching the lives of all who knew him.
Jimmy was the beloved son of Deborah Anglin and Jimmy Lee Darling, and he shared a special bond with his late grandmother Dale Vincent and grandfather Preston Highland. He is now reunited with his dear mother, Deborah, and cousin Peter Dunn in eternal rest.
Survived by a large and loving family, Jimmy leaves behind his lifelong love, Ada Darling, whom he married in May 1992. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with five children: Dorelle Darling Sr., Damon Darling Sr. and his wife Stephanie, Mariah Darling, Jimmy Lee Darling III, and Jordy Allen Darling with his wife Danielle. Jimmy was also a proud grandfather to nine wonderful grandchildren: Dorelle Darling Jr., Isabella Darling, Damon Darling Jr., Aric Darling,Aiden Darling, Braylon Darling, Demi Darling, Tristan Darling, Iverson Darling, and Shane Darling.
Jimmy's siblings, Sophia Semaj Simmons, Amber Dawn Lipsey, Robert Cameron Lipsey, and brother/cousin Christian Eric Dunn, along with nephews TyShawn Kendrick, Semaj "Lil Quicc" Bennett, and Ezra Macc, and nieces NaTaija Simmons, Aaliyah Bennett, and Zariah Bennett, will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved brother and uncle. His extended family includes aunts Geraldine Pennerman and Josi Dunn, uncles John Anglin and Fred Dunn, and godmother Bobbie Jean Chavers. Jimmy had a special relationship with cousins Michael Pennerman, Jasmine Dunn, Gerald Johns, Larry "LaLa" Laneheart, and William Pennerman, and dear friend Kathy Andrews and nephew Deavan Jones and Jona Curry. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, godbrothers Robert and Norman Chavers, and countless other family and friends.
As a young man, Jimmy excelled academically, particularly in math, and proudly graduated from the United States Air Force, where he served with honor beginning in 1992. Following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and uncles, Jimmy found his calling as a journeyman carpenter, dedicating himself to his craft with the San Diego Carpenters Union 619. His hands could bring any blueprint to life, and his legacy will endure in the structures he helped build.
Jimmy's life was a testament to his faith and adventurous spirit. A God-fearing man, he found comfort in his faith in Jehovah God and was known for reading the Bible and sharing his faith with others. His love for the 49ers, passion for chess, and penchant for daring adventures defined his character. He was a fearless soul with an infectious sense of humor, always quick with a joke and a smile.
In his leisure time, Jimmy enjoyed listening to Tupac, exploring the great outdoors, and spending quality time with his family and friends. His love for the West Coast, particularly California, was unmatched. Those who knew him understood his deep connection to his home state.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on September 23, 2026, viewing from 10 am to 12pm Services from 12 to 2 pm at Cypress View Mortuary, located at 3953 Imperial Ave. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.
In memory of Jimmy, the family appreciates donations to be made in his honor to a charitable organization of your choice. Jimmy Lee Darling II will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in our hearts forever.
