Jimmy Dell Jackson

It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jimmy Dell Jackson, who departed this world peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 15, 1935, in the small town of Fitzhugh, Arkansas, Jimmy led a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. Jimmy was the beloved son of the late Odell and Stella Jackson, and he carried the values imparted by them throughout his life. He was predeceased by his cherished wives, Beatrice Jean Jackson, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years, and Inez Jackson, with whom he spent 20 precious years. Jimmy is survived by his loving children: Wendell, Randall, Kendall, and Paula, who will forever hold their father’s memory close to their hearts. His legacy lives on through his siblings, Max, Sue, June, and Beverly, and his ten treasured grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great,great grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. An avid learner, Jimmy attended Augusta High School and later pursued studies in air conditioning and refrigeration at Rankin Technical College. His career began at National Vendors, but his entrepreneurial spirit led him to the world of auto mechanics, where he owned and operated a Mobil station with three mechanic bays. His journey continued in the vending business, where he started as a route person and quickly moved into mechanics, founding A&J Vending. This venture eventually became a family affair, passing into the capable hands of his sons, where Jimmy continued to work as the lead mechanic at Jacksonbrothers until his retirement. In his retirement, Jimmy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished his time spent fishing and engaging in woodworking projects, but his greatest delight came from playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His playful spirit and penchant for jokes—often inherited from his father—ensured that laughter was never far from those around him. Jimmy was a steadfast member of the Tupelo Assembly of God in Tupelo, Arkansas, where his faith and commitment to his beliefs inspired those who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and humorous nature touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on his community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jimmy's generous spirit. As we celebrate his remarkable life, we remember Jimmy Dell Jackson not just for his accomplishments but for the love and laughter he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
