In Loving Memory

Jimmy Dean Dunfield
April 13, 1962 — May 13, 2026
Jimmy Dean Dunfield, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born on April 13, 1962, in Springfield, Missouri, to Robert Eugene Dunfield and Hazel Fay Dunfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mark Dunfield.
He was a graduate of Hurley High School, Class of 1980.
After high school, Jimmy answered the call of duty and devoted 20 years to the United States Air Force. His service, which spanned from June 1980 to July 2000, saw him rise to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Throughout his military career, Jimmy exemplified honor, courage, and unwavering patriotism, traits that earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and superiors alike.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Jimmy pursued his passions for wildlife, photography, and travel. His camera was never far from his side as he captured the beauty of nature and the essence of his journeys. His photographs told stories that words could not, and they remain a testament to his keen eye and gentle spirit.
Jimmy leaves behind his brothers, Rick and Mike, and his two nieces, Christina Dunfield-Cox and Roxanne Slaughter. His family extended to great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and I'm sure embraced many friends along the path of his lifetime who will remember him fondly as a kind and generous person.
In honoring Jimmy's memory, we reflect on his steadfast loyalty to his family and the service to his country, as well as his appreciation for the wonders of the world. He will be missed but never forgotten.
May he rest in eternal peace.
