May 30, 1954 — May 26, 2026

With profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy Collier, who departed this world on May 26, 2026, just days shy of his 72nd birthday. Born on May 30, 1954, in the heart of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Jimmy lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community. Jimmy was the cherished son of the late AC and Arlene Collier, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and compassion. He was preceded in death by his dear parents and his brothers, Alfred and Peter Collier, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Jimmy shared 50 wonderful years with his devoted wife, Charmayne, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Together, they raised a beautiful family, nurturing each child with unwavering love and support. He leaves behind his beloved children: Annette, Sarina, Shalonda, Vicki, Jimmy Jr., Delano, and his bonus children, Kiera, Shaunette, and Demonte, who he loved as his own. His siblings, Albertina, Bobbie Jean, Mary, Ella, Aubrey, and Samuel, will forever cherish their memories with their brother. His family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in the company of his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense happiness and pride. Jimmy’s home was always filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of family gatherings, where he was the pillar of strength and wisdom. Jimmy was known for his innate ability to bring people together, his gentle spirit, and his generous heart. He was a beacon of positivity in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched; a testament to a life dedicated to others. Though he faced a brief illness toward the end of his life, Jimmy passed away peacefully at Aperion Nursing Facility, surrounded by love and comfort. His family finds solace in knowing he is now reunited with his loved ones in eternal peace. A celebration of his life will be held on June 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Liberty Temple, located at 5315 S Halsted. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join us in honoring his memory and the profound impact he left on each of us. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jimmy’s name to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of generosity and compassion. As we say goodbye to our dear Jimmy, we hold onto the beautiful memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His laughter, wisdom, and love will forever be a guiding light for all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Jimmy, until we meet again.
