Jimmie C Moore

Jimmie C. Moore, a cherished husband, father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, leaving behind his beloved wife, Rena Moore, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He was 87 years old. Born on October 13, 1938, in Huntingdon, Tennessee, Jimmie graduated from Webb High School and afterwards pursued his love for cooking. Jimmie devoted more than 40 years to his career as an Executive Chef, working in many restaurants and Assisted Living homes. He took great pride in serving others and was known for his care, hard work, and dedication. Even in retirement, his spirit remained busy and kind. He later worked part-time with foster children of the State of Michigan, where he was lovingly called “Grandpa.” A man of warmth and character, Jimmie was the beloved son of the late Walter I. Moore and Dollie B. Moore. He was also a twin—his twin brother the late Willie C. Moore. Growing up in Huntingdon gave him a foundation of kindness, strength, and a curiosity about the world around him. Throughout his life, Jimmie enjoyed traveling across the United States, visiting 27 states and always ready to explore and make new memories. Jimmie’s love knew no bounds. He is survived by his Wife and two daughters, Beverly Dunn and Dana Williams; his three sisters, Freddie Mae Brooks, Jewelean Taylor, and Linda Johnson; his five grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was especially proud of his family, and each one held a special place in his heart. One of Jimmie’s most treasured pastimes was photography—he left behind many photos filled with memories that will be cherished by those he loved. Jimmie will be remembered for his generous heart, his steady presence, his devotion to his family, and the joy he brought to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory and legacy will be forever cherished.
