It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Jimmie Blaylock Stewart, who gently departed this world on May 10, 2026, and entered into the loving embrace of the Lord. Born on March 26, 1932, in the close-knit community of Chester, South Carolina, Jimmie was a beacon of love, faith, and resilience to all who knew her.
Jimmie was the cherished daughter of the late James Franklin and Mary Estelle Poston Blaylock, and she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred O. Stewart, Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 68 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Fred O. Stewart, Jr. (Sandra) and Sheila Stewart (Mike Lollis), while building a life rich in devotion and happiness.
A graduate of Chester High School, class of 1950, Jimmie embarked on a remarkable 40-year career in the banking industry. Her professional journey began at the Clerk of Courts office before she moved on to Peoples National Bank. She concluded her career at Wachovia National Bank, where she was respected for her dedication and integrity.
Jimmie’s spiritual journey began in her childhood at the Second Baptist Church in Chester, where she discovered her faith in Jesus and became an active Sunday School teacher and choir member. Her faith and devotion continued to grow, leading her to later become a beloved member of Chester Freedom Ministries and, ultimately, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
Jimmie is survived by her loving children and their spouses, her devoted brother, Carl O. Blaylock, her treasured grandchildren, Whitney Ford (David) and Andrea Ayers (Brandon), her dear bonus daughter, Judy Krenzer (Rick), and four precious great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Jimmie’s life on May 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 1459 Celanese Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Jimmie’s honor.
