It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Wilson Sheppard, who left this world unexpectedly on March 23, 2026. Jim was born on December 9, 1967, in Houston, Texas, to the late Douglas Vernon Sheppard and Mary Elizabeth Smith Sheppard. He was 58 years old at the time of his passing. Jim was a beacon of love, kindness, and faith in the lives of all who knew him. A graduate of Katy High School in 1986, he went on to earn a finance degree from Abilene Christian University in 1990 and furthered his education with a master's degree from Texas A&M. Jim's career as a commercial real estate appraiser and owner of a brokerage was marked by integrity and dedication, as he touched many lives through his work. On May 25, 1989, Jim married the love of his life, Stefanie Day, in Roswell, New Mexico. Together, they celebrated 37 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and a shared commitment to raising their two cherished sons, Sam and Dylan. The Sheppard family was always guided by their faith and a deep sense of community, with Jim leading by example as an active lover of the Lord. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he spread the message of Jesus everywhere he went. Jim's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid hiker who found peace and inspiration in nature. His love of saving money was not just a personal hobby but a philosophy of life that he shared with others, often through his enjoyment of research and podcasts. His curiosity and thirst for knowledge were contagious, encouraging those around him to never stop learning. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Stefanie, and their sons, Sam and Dylan. He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings, Mike Sheppard, Kay Sheppard Hunsucker, and Julie Sheppard Scrivner. His extendeily includes his and beloved sister-in-laws, Mitzi Day Mullins and Cristy Day Nash; brother-in-laws, Mike Hunsucker, Brannon Nash, Roy Mullins, and Tim Scrivner; and many nieces and nephews, Hunter Hunsucker, Branton Hunsucker, Weston Scrivner, Josh Scrivner and wife Niah, Douglas Sheppard, Mikayla Sheppard Hatch and her husband, Josh Hatch, Gracie Sheppard, Maddie Reese, Chase Nash and wife, Ella and Cooper Nash; father in law Carl Day. Along with a maternal aunt & many cousins. They will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Vernon and Mary Elizabeth Smith Sheppard; his grandparents, Claude Wilson and Eleanor Genevieve Vernon Sheppard and Jim Hogg and Elizabeth Rachel Hankins Smith; his mother-in-law, Loma Dean Day; and his nephew, Jeffrey Walker Reese. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hillside Fellowship, located at 7055 US Hwy 281 N, Spring Branch, Texas 78070, north of San Antonio. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a life lived with grace, love, and unwavering faith. Jim Wilson Sheppard's legacy is one of love, faith, and the joy of living life to its fullest. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit continues to guide and inspire the many lives he touched.
