Jim Lindsey
February 7, 1945 — April 25, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Jim Lindsey, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on February 7, 1945, in Hamilton, Ohio, Jim was a beacon of warmth and dedication throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim was the beloved son of Gilbert and Edna Lindsey, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness. Though he was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Herbert Lindsay, his sister, Audrey Kilgour, and his cherished wife, Shirley Lindsay, Jim's spirit lived on in the laughter and love of his surviving family members.
He is deeply missed by his son, Greg Riddell, and daughter-in-law, Mari, who shared with him the joys of family and the simple pleasures of life. Jim took immense pride in his six grandchildren—Amber, Elizabeth, Kennedy, Sara, Jon, and Cheyanne—and was further blessed with four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and reminders of life's continuity.
The love and support of his siblings, Myrl, Patty Ann, Marilyn, and Donna Jean, along with his 18 nieces and nephews, provided Jim with a lifetime of cherished memories and unwavering companionship. Each family gathering was a testament to the bonds that Jim nurtured and treasured throughout his life.
A dedicated and diligent worker, Jim spent many years in the lab at a steel plant, where he honed his skills and built lasting friendships. His retirement marked the end of a fulfilling career, but it never diminished the work ethic and camaraderie he carried throughout his life.
Jim was a proud member of the Masonic community, having been a steadfast brother at Washington Lodge No. 17 in Hamilton, Ohio, and later at Kathleen Lodge No. 338 in Kathleen, Florida. His commitment to these lodges was a reflection of his dedication to service, brotherhood, and the betterment of society.
Outside of his professional and fraternal commitments, Jim found joy in the thrill of car racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He cherished the peacefulness of fishing, often sharing this passion with his son, Greg. Together, they created unforgettable moments on the water, surrounded by nature's tranquility. Jim never missed an episode of "Gunsmoke," finding comfort and nostalgia in the timeless tales of the Old West.
Jim Lindsey's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. Though he has left this world, his spirit and legacy will continue to light our paths and warm our hearts. We invite all who knew and loved Jim to join us in celebrating his life and legacy at a memorial service, details of which will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to a charity of your choice, spreading kindness in his honor.
