It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jill Uceny, a beloved wife, cherished friend, and esteemed member of her community, who left this world on September 26, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on March 5, 1959, in Plymouth, Indiana, Jill was the treasured daughter of the late Norma and Gerald Kuhn, who preceded her in death. Jill's journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to helping others and a steadfast commitment to her faith. She was a devoted wife to Larry Uceny, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 33 years. Their union, solemnized on December 5, 1992, at the United Methodist Church in Plymouth, Indiana, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Jill's thirst for knowledge led her to Indiana University - Indianapolis, where she graduated with a Master of Social Work in 1985. An active participant in various honor societies, she was recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1986. Her professional journey was characterized by a series of significant accomplishments, including her certification as an A.C.S.W. in 1987, a Board Certified Diplomate in 1991, and a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker for the State of Indiana in 1992. She also held numerous certifications and memberships, underscoring her commitment to excellence in her field. In 1996, Jill founded Brighter Tomorrows, Inc., where she provided counseling services to countless individuals in her community. Her career was distinguished by her work in psychotherapy and custody evaluations, and she served as an approved supervisor through the AAMFT. Jill's dedication to her profession was matched by her commitment to her faith and her community. She was a devout member of the Christian Life Center of South Bend, Indiana, and actively participated in various professional organizations. Jill's life was enriched by her love for reading, her continuous pursuit of education, and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Her radiant smile and warm presence made everyone around her feel safe and welcomed. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry, and a close-knit circle of dear friends who will forever cherish her memory: Wannita Eby, Samantha Hayn, Kevin Jackson, Krystal Stafford, Peg Willman, Darla Coleman, and Erin Beatty. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jill's memory. They would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Care Team hospice organization, including Chaplain Bob, Social Worker Alyssa, and Nurses Barb and Misty, for their compassionate care and support during Jill's final days. As we bid farewell to Jill, we hold her in our hearts, celebrating a life well-lived and a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith. She is now in the welcoming arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, where she finds eternal peace.
