Jill departed this world on October 7, 2026, in the loving embrace of her husband Leo, following a courageous battle with illness. Born on April 20, 1951, in Syracuse, New York, Jill was the adored daughter of Danny and Margrie Barboni. Jill's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her remarkable career spanning 27 years at the prestigious law firm of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom. Her colleagues and friends remember her fondly for her dedication, warmth, and the genuine connections she cultivated within the firm. She spoke often of her admiration and affection for Joe Yaffe, his wife, and all the lawyers she worked alongside, considering them an integral part of her extended family. Her interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Jill found immense joy in reading, golfing, and biking, activities that brought her peace and happiness throughout her life. A gifted cook, she delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together, filling their hearts and bellies with warmth and love. Jill was a woman of great integrity, known for her honesty and loyalty. Her presence was a beacon of warmth and hospitality, always making those around her feel genuinely welcome. Her husband Leo, her devoted partner for 35 wonderful years, describes her as his best friend and the essence of his world. In addition to her professional accomplishments and personal interests, Jill was a dedicated caretaker for her parents, Danny and Margrie, demonstrating the deep love and commitment she held for her family. A service to honor and celebrate Jill's life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes, located at 2601 Santa Rosa Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects to a remarkable woman whose legacy will be cherished forever. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jill's memory to the Frank R Howard Foundation, an organization close to her heart. Jill Maguire's light shone brightly in this world, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
