Jhalon Merida

June 20, 1998 — February 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jhalon Merida, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on February 15, 2026, at the age of 27. Born on June 20, 1998, in Dearborn, Michigan, Jhalon brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him. Jhalon's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and a passion for the simple joys of life. The joy of fatherhood was one of his greatest treasures, and he embraced his role as a devoted father to his two-year-old son, Kaiden, with unbridled enthusiasm and love. His wife, Jazmyn, whom he cherished deeply, was his steadfast partner, having shared over five beautiful years of marriage together. Jhalon was a man of many talents and interests, but it was his love for cooking that truly stood out. Whether he was barbecuing for family and friends or experimenting with new recipes, Jhalon found joy in sharing his culinary creations with those he loved. Tragically, it was during one such moment, while barbecuing, that he was taken from us due to poor smoke ventilation. Jhalon was also pursuing a career in HVAC, attending school with the determination to provide a better future for his family. In addition to his studies, he worked diligently as an Uber driver, connecting with people from all walks of life and sharing his infectious smile and kind heart with everyone he met. He was the cherished son of Jamal Merida and Katrina Lowrance, who instilled in him values of kindness, resilience, and integrity. These values shone brightly in every aspect of his life, from his work to his interactions with others. A celebration of Jhalon's life will be held on February 20, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Detroit World Outreach, located at 7155 Norwood Avenue, Allen Park, MI. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jhalon's warmth and generosity are invited to join in honoring his memory and celebrating the beautiful life he lived. As we gather to mourn the loss of Jhalon, let us also remember the joy, laughter, and love he brought into our lives. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue through the lives he touched. The Merida family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. They extend a special message to all: "May his soul rest in peace." Jhalon Merida will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
