Celebrating the Life of Jewel Copeland
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jewel Copeland, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on September 16, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on January 29, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, Jewel was a radiant soul whose presence filled every room with warmth and laughter.
Jewel was the cherished daughter of Ronald Copeland and the late Shirley Copeland, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience. She bravely faced an over a year-long battle with cancer, displaying the courage and determination that defined her life.
Jewel's passion for music was a cornerstone of her existence. With aspirations of becoming a singer, she graced those around her with her beautiful singing voice, whether she was performing for a crowd or simply humming a tune at home. Her talent for songwriting reflected her deep understanding of the human heart, and her songs often brought comfort and joy to those who heard them.
Above all, Jewel was known for her unwavering love and support for her family. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Ashley Oliver, Nichole Wright, and Shelly Wigginton, who looked up to her as their guiding light. Her legacy lives on in her three grandchildren, Rebecca McDaniel, Elisabeth Wigginton, and Tristan Wigginton, who will forever remember her laughter and the heartfelt way she cared for them.
Jewel is also survived by her father, Ronald Copeland, her brother Timothy Copeland, and her sister Amy Hurst, each of whom shared a special bond with her. She is predeceased by her beloved mother, Shirley Copeland, and her dear grandson, Lucas Young, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
Jewel's kindness and humor touched many lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Her ability to make others smile, even in the toughest of times, will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
