Jewel Beasley

Jewel Beasley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on December 28, 1933, in the United States to loving parents Charlie and Jesse Beasley, Jewel lived a life marked by devotion, warmth, and service. Jewel was predeceased by his siblings Frank Beasley, Pete Beasley, James Beasley, Ruth Fletcher, Catherine Knapp, George Beasley, Mae Pierce, and Faye Mangham, whose memories he cherished dearly. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Bonnie Beasley, who shared his life's journey with unwavering love and companionship. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their daughters Tami Willoughby and her husband Clyde, Shelli Beasley, and Amy Wolter and her husband John. Jewel was a proud grandfather to Garrett Young, Katelyn Clements and her husband Michael, and Kaleb Wolter and his wife Alex, as well as a joyful great-grandfather to Coleson Young. A skilled mechanic by trade, Jewel was the owner-operator of HEMCO, Inc. until his retirement in 1990. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his commitment to his community and his faith. As a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Liberty City, Jewel exemplified a servant’s heart, always eager to lend a hand or share a kind word. His passion for helping others extended to volunteering for mission work, where he made lasting impacts on countless lives. Jewel was known for his vibrant personality and infectious spirit. He delighted in social gatherings and was often the life of the party, captivating those around him with tales of his childhood in Maydelle and the legendary “Big Willie” adventures. His love for storytelling was matched only by his affection for his loyal puppy and sidekick, Frannie Mae. Jewel's hobbies reflected his love for hard work and adventure. Whether operating a dozer, a backhoe, a tractor, or joyfully hauling a loaded trailer, he found fulfillment in every task and project he undertook. A service to celebrate Jewel's extraordinary life will be held on August 24, 2024, at 10:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Jewel’s legacy of generosity and community service. Jewel Beasley will be remembered for his loving spirit, his dedication to family and community, and the joy he brought to every life he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
