It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jevin Trevor Carter, who left this world on April 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Jevin was born on January 11, 1991, in the charming town of Marquette, MI, where he began a life defined by kindness, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Jevin was the cherished son of Todd Carter and Tina Wagasy, who instilled in him the values of compassion and perseverance. Growing up in a nurturing environment, Jevin carried these values throughout his life, uplifting everyone he encountered with his warmth and vibrant spirit.
A proud graduate of Hart High School, Jevin was not only known for his academic accomplishments but also for his infectious smile and leadership. In 2009, he was crowned Homecoming King, a testament to his popularity and the genuine connections he made with his peers. During his high school years, Jevin spent his summers at Wave Club Water Sports on Silver Lake, where he found joy in assisting customers and sharing his love for the outdoors.
In 2015, Jevin embarked on a new chapter, moving his family to Minot, ND, where he pursued a career in the oil and gas industry. His dedication and work ethic quickly earned him respect and admiration from his colleagues. His ability to adapt and thrive in a new environment showcased his courage and determination, qualities that defined him throughout his life.
Jevin's love for music was a constant source of joy. He found solace and inspiration in the rhythms and lyrics of his favorite bands, including Tame Impala, Deadmau5, ASAP Rocky, Lil Wayne, and Wu-Tang. Music was not just a hobby for Jevin; it was a way of life that brought him closer to others and helped him navigate the complexities of life with grace.
Jevin is survived by his beloved children, Evan and Ily Carter, who were the light of his life and a testament to his enduring legacy. He is also survived by his devoted partner, Rosemary Ortiz, who stood by his side through life's triumphs and challenges. His siblings, Cecelia Augustine, and his aunts and uncles, Mary and Joe Vencelov, and Stan and Wanda Krupa, were a constant source of love and support throughout his journey.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Herman Carter and Wilhelmina Carter, Jevin now joins them in eternal peace, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish his memory. His best friend, Trevor Warner, who shared countless adventures and memories with Jevin, will deeply miss his unwavering friendship.
In honoring Jevin's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life and legacy. Though he is no longer with us, Jevin's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jevin Trevor Carter's life, though cut short, was a remarkable journey of love, resilience, and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid him farewell, we take comfort in the memories we shared and the love he gave so freely. Rest in peace, dear Jevin. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
