Jetta, aged 88, departed peacefully after a long and courageous battle with dementia, leaving behind a legacy of love and warm memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on February 20, 1938, in Shawnee, Kansas, Jetta was the beloved daughter of John and Cicel Saunders. From a young age, she was known for her boundless compassion, infectious smile, and an innate ability to bring joy to those around her. These qualities garnered her lifelong friendships and a deep connection with her family, whom she adored above all else. Jetta shared over 60 beautiful years of marriage with her late husband, Phillip Porter. Their love was a testament to devotion and partnership, weathering the storms of life with grace and resilience. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and laughter, providing a nurturing home for their children and a haven for countless gatherings and celebrations. A devoted mother, Jetta leaves behind her loving children: Kay Porter, Gene Porter, and Chris Porter. Her unwavering support and guidance shaped their lives, instilling in them the values of kindness and perseverance. Her legacy continues through her six cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Jetta had a passion for sewing and gardening, hobbies that reflected her creativity and nurturing spirit. Her hands crafted countless quilts and garments, each stitch woven with love, while her garden blossomed under her tender care, just as her family did. Her presence was a gentle reminder of the beauty in simplicity and the joy found in life’s small moments. Though our world is dimmer without her light, Jetta’s spirit remains a guiding force, reminding us to cherish our loved ones and embrace each day with gratitude. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Jetta’s life and legacy. Family and close friends will gather on June 25, 2026, to celebrate the profound impact she had on their lives and to share stories of the remarkable woman she was. Jetta Porter’s journey on this earth has come to a close, but her spirit will forever guide us, and her love will continue to blossom in the gardens of our hearts.
