It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Jesus Martinez, who departed this life peacefully on July 22, 2026, at Christus St. Vincents Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born on October 27, 1986, in the vibrant city of Santa Fe, Jesus graced this world with his warmth, kindness, and endless capacity for love. Jesus was a cherished son to Jeronimo "Jerry" and Maria Teresa Martinez, who instilled in him a deep appreciation for family, faith, and community. Jesus is preceded in death by his grandparents, Saturnino and Simona Martinez, and Celestino and Christina Sosa. Their legacy of compassion and resilience lived on through Jesus. A devoted brother to Matias S. Martinez, Jesus shared a special bond with his sibling that was strengthened by the love and support of Matias's spouse, Emma Martinez. Together, they created cherished memories that will forever be treasured. Jesus was also the proud and loving father to his two beautiful daughters, Marisol and Gabriela Martinez, who were the lights of his life. Jesus touched the lives of many with his early years of athletic participation in wrestling, football and basketball. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Donate Life New Mexico, particularly Sue Ann Winstead, as well as the Hospice and hospital staff at St. Vincent Hospital, whose care and kindness provided comfort during Jesus's final days. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jesus Martinez will be held at the Rivera Funeral Home, KIVA Chapel, located at 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. Details regarding the date and time will be shared with family and friends in due course. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Santa Fe Church of Christ, an organization close to Jesus's heart. Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of Jesus, we find solace in the countless beautiful memories he leaves behind and the legacy of love and compassion he imparted to all who knew him.
