Jessie B. Woodard Jr, a beloved soul known for his love of music, sharp dressing, and family passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 74 in Dallas, Texas.Born on October 20, 1951, Jessie was a source of joy and warmth to all who knew him with a witty personality and never out of step with his own unapologetic style.
The cherished son of the late Jessie B. and Dorothy Woodard. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Helen Turner, Linda Green, and Dorothy Johnson. He is survived by his devoted daughter Chenoa Stewart Turner, and his treasured grandchildren. One brother, James Woodard and three sisters, Violet Woodard, Joycestean Woodard, and Bernice Coker. His extended family of nieces, nephews and friends will miss him dearly.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School. He was one of the founders of The Black Knights, as well as member of the ROTC in school.Jessie was passionate about music and formed a singing group later in life called the Soul Searchers, sharing his talent and touching many hearts. His love for singing remained a constant joy throughout his life, as did his delight in the simple pleasures of a KFC potpie.
Jessie's family was his pride and joy, and poured his heart into every moment spent with them. An active member of his church, until his illness. He was known for his deep faith, laughter, compassion, and willingness to help others or just a listening ear. Jessie B. Woodard Jr will be profoundly missed, but his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared.
A celebration of Jessie's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m at Abundant Faith Fellowship, located at 3930 N. Hampton Rd, Dallas, TX. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the congregation of Abundant Faith Fellowship for their unwavering support and kindness during this difficult time.
