It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessie Westley Evans Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. Jessie, aged 50, passed away peacefully at his home in Flint, Michigan, on March 13, 2026, from natural causes. Born on January 26, 1976, Jessie was a beacon of love and strength throughout his life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Jessie was the cherished son of Jessie Westley Evans Sr. and Patricia Ann Evans, who lovingly nurtured him from his beginnings in Flint. He shared his life's journey with his brothers, Darrell Lee Evans and Marlon Evans, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Jessie was predeceased by his dear family member, Barbara Diane Evans, whose memory he held close to his heart. In his personal life, Jessie was blessed with a family that he loved deeply. He shared a long-time relationship with his partner, whose name remains in our hearts, building a nurturing home filled with joy and laughter. Together, they raised their children with love, instilling in them the values of compassion and perseverance. Jessie was the proud father of Eric Walker and his son, Eron, of Charlotte, NC, Lay-Lay, Jessica Evans, and Jessie Westley Evans III. His love extended beyond his own children, as he embraced his partner's children as his own. Jessie's life was further enriched by the joy of being a grandfather. He found immense pleasure in watching his grandchild grow, cherishing every moment spent together. A man of faith, Jessie believed in the guiding light of the Lord as his shepherd. His family has shared a heartfelt message that echoes Jessie's belief in the eternal peace and comfort that his faith provided him. Amanda Nabors beautifully composed these words in his honor: "The Lord is my Shepherd and now my eyes do see, All that was hidden are now revealed unto me. This earthly body now sleeps, but my spirit has found divine rest, In the beauty of eternity, where there are no trials, no test..." These words serve as a testament to Jessie's unwavering belief in the promise of eternal life and the comfort of his spiritual home. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jessie's life and pay their respects at a service to be held on April 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The service will be a reflection of the love and kindness that Jessie shared during his time with us. Jessie Westley Evans Jr. will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, laughed heartily, and lived his life with a spirit of generosity and warmth. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, dear Jessie, as you find eternal joy and tranquility in the arms of the Lord.
