In Loving Memory
Jessie Greer Coles
November 17, 1934 — February 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Jessie Greer Coles on February 28, 2026, at the age of 91. Jessie departed this world surrounded by love at Pinewood Nursing Home in McLaren Vale, South Australia, after succumbing to complications from a fall.
Born on November 17, 1934, in the vibrant city of Glasgow, Scotland, Jessie was the beloved daughter of George and Mary Campbell. She was predeceased by her loving parents, as well as her cherished husband, Fred, her sister Annette, and her brothers Alexander, George, and Richard. Jessie also endured the heart-wrenching loss of her firstborn daughter, Sharon, whose memory she held dear every day of her life.
Jessie led a life marked by resilience and love, embodying the spirit of a true matriarch. Her journey took her from her birthplace in Scotland to building a home and family in Australia. Jessie was a woman of many talents and roles throughout her life. She was a dedicated nurse, a proficient sales person, and a devoted homemaker, all while being the linchpin of her family's world.
Jessie married twice, outliving her first husband, Des, and her second husband, Fred. Her enduring love for her family was evident in the close-knit bonds she fostered with her children and grandchildren. Jessie is survived by her children Wayne, Michelle, Daniel, Aden, and Koby, as well as her grandchildren Alison, Chenee, Thalia, and her extended family, who filled her life with joy and laughter. Her legacy of love extends to her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Despite facing the challenges of dementia in her later years, Jessie remained spirited and filled the halls of Pinewood with her singing. Her voice was a testament to her strength and the love she carried for her family and those around her. Jessie faced life's hardships with grace and an unwavering spirit, always finding solace in the embrace of her loved ones.
In her honor, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart Foundation, a cause close to Jessie's heart. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at ACH/Pinewood McLaren Vale for their compassionate care and service to both Jessie and Fred.
As we bid farewell to Jessie, we hold onto the hope that she is now reunited with her beloved Sharon, singing joyfully in a place of peace. Jessie Greer Coles will be forever loved and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace. xx
