September 9, 1992 — March 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jessica Birch, a cherished wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Born on September 9, 1992, in Grand Rapids, MI, Jessica left this world too soon on March 11, 2026, at the age of 33. Her untimely departure was due to a tragic incident involving too much caffeine, a poignant reminder of life's fragile nature. Jessica was the beloved daughter of Cari Reichard and Marshall Scoon, who raised her with love and instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Peggy Jean Hiar and George Edwin Hiar, whom she adored and who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. Jessica's life was enriched by her loving husband, Jason Birch. The two were nearly inseparable since their marriage almost three years ago, and they looked forward to celebrating their third anniversary on June 23, 2026. Together, they shared a deep and abiding love that was evident to all who knew them. Their greatest joy, however, was their son, Damien Birch, who was the light of Jessica's life. As a mother, she was nurturing and devoted, always cherishing every moment with her little boy. Jessica attended Pellston High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and discovered her many talents. Her journey led her to a fulfilling career at 4Front Credit Union, where she was not only respected for her professionalism but also loved for her infectious laugh and warm spirit that brightened the days of colleagues and clients alike. A woman of many interests, Jessica found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid Nintendo player, often sharing spirited gaming sessions with friends and family. Her love for her dog, Astro, was a testament to her nurturing nature, and their bond was one of pure affection. Jessica's artistic side shone through in her love for coloring, a hobby she often indulged in to unwind and express her creativity. Jessica's affinity for baked goods and coffee was well-known among her friends, and she often brought people together over a shared latte or freshly baked treat. Despite the irony of her passing, her love for coffee was a part of her charm. Those who knew Jessica will always remember her cheesy smile, kind heart, and warm touch, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met. In addition to her immediate family, Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Cari and Marshall, whose support and guidance were constants in her life. Her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue to live on through them and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Jessica Birch's life, though brief, was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit. Her memory will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind, and her spirit will continue to inspire kindness and joy. In honoring her life, we remember Jessica as a beacon of warmth and love, a woman who touched the hearts of many with her beautiful soul. A celebration of Jessica's life will be held on a date to be announced, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity close to Jessica's heart, as a way to continue her legacy of giving and compassion.
