February 21, 1971 — August 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jesse James Huerta Sr, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Jesse departed this world on August 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Born on February 21, 1971, in Jourdanton, Texas, Jesse was the beloved son of Julio A. Huerta Jr and the late Elena Garcia Huerta. Jesse's life was a testament to the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family. He was a proud alumnus of his local high school, where he was well-regarded for his skill on the football field. As he grew older, Jesse became a staple in his community, known for his dedication to his family and his tireless work ethic. He was a man who loved roping and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, always ensuring that laughter and joy filled their gatherings. Jesse was a man whose heart was as vast as the Texas skies. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and his warm smile was a beacon of comfort and reassurance. His respectfulness and generosity endeared him to all who knew him, making him not just a good-hearted man but an exemplary human being. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Ruby R. Huerta, who was his steadfast partner through all of life's ups and downs. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and warmth. His cherished children, daughter Maricella Celeste Huerta and her partner Andres Galvan, and son Jesse James Huerta Jr, will carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. Jesse's grandson, Andres Mateo Huerta Galvan, was the apple of his eye, and Jesse took immense pride in being a loving and doting grandfather. Jesse is also survived by his father, Julio A. Huerta Jr, and stepmother, Alicia R. Huerta. His sisters, Linda L. Huerta, Betty J. Huerta, and Angie L. Huerta, along with their partners and children, will forever hold Jesse's memory close to their hearts. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Ashley N. Chapa, Hailey R. Loza, Mikey Chapa, and Broedy A. Loza. His legacy will continue through his five great-nieces and two great-nephews, who will grow up hearing stories of his remarkable life. Jesse was predeceased by his mother, Elena Garcia Huerta, his in-laws, grandparents, a brother-in-law, and a cousin, all of whom he deeply cherished. Family and friends are invited to honor Jesse's life on September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at the Community Christian Church, located at 12487 N. State Hwy. 16, Poteet, Texas 78065. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, in memory of Jesse's generous spirit. As we say farewell to Jesse, we hold close his words: "It's never goodbye... it's laters." His spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will forever be a guiding light for his family and friends.
