It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse James Gazell, a beloved son, partner, and friend, who left this world on July 10, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on September 23, 1973, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Jesse was the cherished son of George E. Gazell and the late Jan Prusinski Gazell. He was a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who knew him.
Jesse spent his formative years in Wisconsin, graduating from Pulaski High School where he first kindled his passion for life and learning. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin at Black River Falls, where he cultivated enduring friendships and a lifelong love for knowledge.
For over two decades, Jesse dedicated himself to serving the community through his work with the United States Postal Service. His commitment and work ethic were unparalleled, and he was known for his friendly smile and unwavering dedication to his colleagues and the people he served each day.
Jesse was a man of many interests. He was an avid fan of Packer football, rarely missing a game, and loved discussing the plays and strategies with friends and family. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending afternoons on the golf course or casting a line in the water while fishing. One of his most treasured pastimes was participating in Fantasy Football with his father, a tradition that brought them closer each season.
He is survived by his loving partner, Melissa Jahn, and a close-knit family that includes his father, George E. Gazell; uncles Phil Gazell, Tom Gazell, and John Prusinski; aunts Pam Prusinski Tepp and Pat Prusinski; and numerous cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Jesse was predeceased by his dear mother, Jan Prusinski Gazell, and his grandparents, Alice and George Gazell, and Elmer and Charlotte Prusinski.
Jesse's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, honoring the personal and intimate connections he fostered throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made in Jesse's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and care for others.
Jesse James Gazell will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in our hearts forever.
