Jesse Ben Miller

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse Ben Miller, who departed this world on August 29, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on July 17, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jesse was a beacon of love, wisdom, and kindness throughout his 84 years of life. Jesse was the cherished son of Orla and Gladys Moeller, and he shared his early years with siblings James, Judy, and Joyce. A brilliant student, Jesse graduated high school at the tender age of 16, then pursued further studies at the University of Missouri, where he earned an MBA. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Judy Brooker. The two embarked on a remarkable journey together, celebrating more than 60 years of marriage filled with adventure and devotion. Jesse's professional life was as impressive as it was varied. He began his career at a prestigious Big Eight accounting firm before transitioning to private accounting with Fred Meyer, Inc. He later made significant contributions to the airline industry through his work with Western Skyways, AAR Corp, and Northwest Airlink Airlines. His decision to decline a job offer from Blue Ribbon Sports, later known as Nike, was one of his life's regrets. A man of many talents and passions, Jesse was an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a dedicated blood donor, and a fervent supporter of PBS. Sports were a lifelong passion for Jesse; he loved playing baseball, football, tennis, and golf. Later in life, investing became his favorite pastime, reflecting his sharp mind and strategic thinking. Jesse had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome. He was known for his warmth, his love of a good card game, and his unwavering dedication to family and friends. His laughter and generous spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Jesse was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Orla, his beloved son Bradley, his brother James, and sister Judy. He is survived by his devoted wife Judy, his son Todd and daughter-in-law Kathryn, and his four grandchildren: Tim, Geoffrey, Clare, and Grace, who were the light of his life. Jesse is also survived by his sister Joyce and her husband Terry, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In accordance with Jesse's wishes, no formal service was held. Instead, his family celebrated his life in a private gathering, sharing cherished memories and honoring the remarkable man he was. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jesse's memory to a charity of your choice. Jesse Ben Miller will always be remembered for his unwavering love, integrity, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May his spirit continue to inspire us all.
