With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Jerry Peppard, who left this world peacefully on March 30, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 19, 1943, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, NY, Jerry was the beloved son of Edmund Peppard and Elizabeth Kirchenbauer, both of whom predeceased him.
Jerry's journey was marked by a deep commitment to education and a passionate career in finance and teaching. He attended Kinston High School before pursuing higher education at the University of New York and the Wharton Business College of Pennsylvania, where he earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree. These academic achievements laid the foundation for a remarkable career as a Financial Manager at IBM, a tenure that spanned decades and was marked by integrity and dedication.
Beyond the corporate world, Jerry's love for sharing knowledge led him to teach economics at Philander Smith University. His desire to make a difference extended to teaching at two maximum security prisons in New York, where he inspired many with his wisdom and kindness.
Jerry's zest for life was evident in his many interests and activities. An avid golfer, he cherished the camaraderie of the golf course, enjoying countless rounds with his buddies. His love for travel took him to many corners of the world, where he embraced new cultures and experiences with his characteristic enthusiasm.
A man of many talents, Jerry was also an active finance member of the LLB and Fame clubs, where his insights and leadership were highly valued. Despite his many accomplishments, it was Jerry's warm, beautiful smile and great sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. He faced every challenge with unwavering courage and an open heart.
Jerry was a devoted husband to his loving wife Carol, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their cherished sons Jeffrey (Amy), Jarret (Dee), Marc (Laura), and Patrick, as well as four beloved grandchildren who brought immense joy to Jerry's life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the "Angels"—neighbors, friends, and family from afar—whose love and support have been a source of strength during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the [Charity](#) in honor of Jerry's memory. Contributions will support causes close to his heart, continuing his legacy of generosity and compassion.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be announced in due course. Please check back for additional details.
