Jerry T. Davis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Jerry, born on April 13, 1939, in Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Oxford Memory Care in Sachse, Texas, on July 16, 2026, at the age of 87. Jerry was the cherished son of Herschel Davis and Mary Alice. He is predeceased by his beloved son, Jerry T. Davis Jr., and leaves behind his devoted wife, Geraldine Davis, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together, Jerry and Geraldine raised four sons, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Jerry is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will forever hold him in their hearts. A proud alumnus of Lee's Summit High School, Jerry graduated in 1957, embarking on a life that would be dedicated to service and community. His career began as a volunteer firefighter at Lee’s Summit Station 1 from 1964 to 1968, while he also managed McKee Lumberyard. Jerry’s passion for firefighting led him to a full-time role with the Seattle Fire Department, where he served with distinction and retired as a lieutenant in 1982. Jerry was a valued member of the Lion’s Club in Duncan, Oklahoma, where his generosity and dedication to service were well-known and respected. An avid golfer, Jerry found joy on the greens, often accompanied by family and friends. He was a man known for his quick wit and humor, a testament to his spirited nature and love for life. Jerry’s warmth and kindness touched all who knew him, and he was always ready with a smile or a helping hand for those in need. The Davis family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oxford Memory Care, as well as the families, extended family, and all firefighters, both serving and retired, for their unwavering support and care. Jerry Davis’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, yet remembered with fondness and admiration by those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace. A service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at VFW Post 5789, located at 329 SE Douglas St, Lee's Summit, Missouri, with food provided. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jerry’s memory, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.
