November 29, 1955 — March 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lynn Rhodes Sr, who left this world on March 5, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on November 29, 1955, in the picturesque town of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Jerry was the cherished son of Leonard Franklin and Frankie Mae Green Rhodes, who preceded him in death. He passed away peacefully at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jerry was a man who embraced life with an open heart and a generous spirit. Known for his outgoing nature and friendly demeanor, he never met a stranger. His laughter was infectious, bringing joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Jerry’s love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A talented musician, Jerry had a passion for playing the guitar. His love for music was only rivaled by his love for the open road, where he found freedom and solace riding his beloved Harley Davidson. Whether strumming a tune or cruising down a winding country road, Jerry's spirit soared, leaving a trail of memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, carried on by his beloved son, Jerry Lynn Rhodes Jr. His memory will also be treasured by his siblings, brothers Terry Rhodes and Kerry Rhodes, and sister Joanne Rice, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Though Jerry did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, his familial bonds were deep and enduring, providing a testament to the love he shared.
In respect of Jerry's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing his family to honor him in an intimate setting. Those who knew and loved Jerry are welcome to celebrate his life in their own special ways, remembering the laughter and love he shared so freely.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support and kindness during this difficult time. Your love and compassion have been a source of strength, and for that, they are deeply thankful. As they navigate this profound loss, they find comfort in knowing that Jerry will be missed by many, but his spirit will forever live on in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a moment to share a smile or a laugh with someone in Jerry's honor, continuing his legacy of warmth and joy.
Jerry Lynn Rhodes Sr will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who carry his memory. Rest in peace, dear Jerry, knowing you were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
