It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lewis Stracener, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, who left this earthly realm on March 13, 2026. Jerry's journey began on April 10, 1974, in the warm embrace of DeRidder, Louisiana, where he was born to the late John Lincoln Stracener and Essie Mae Mayo Stracener. Although his parents have predeceased him, their legacy of love and kindness lives on through Jerry and his family.
Jerry's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. Known for his kind soul and infectious spirit, Jerry had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those around him. He found immense joy in the company of children and animals, whose innocence and capacity for love mirrored his own. Jerry had an unyielding love for his family, and his heart was forever anchored to the memory of his beloved mama.
A man of many passions, Jerry found solace and excitement in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line into the tranquil waters on a fishing trip or seeking hidden treasures with wide-eyed wonder, Jerry embraced life with an adventurous spirit. He delighted in the art of good cooking, savoring the flavors of a well-prepared meal and the warmth of a shared table.
Jerry's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his siblings, whose bonds were unbreakable and filled with laughter, reminiscence, and a shared history that only siblings can truly understand. He is survived by his devoted brothers, Charlie Stracener (Tammy) of Pitkin, LA, Leon Stracener (Katie) of DeRidder, LA, LeRoy Stracener (Tina) of Pitkin, LA, Chester Stracener (Shauna) of Pitkin, LA, and John Stracener (Angela) of Pitkin, LA; and his caring sisters, Edith Mancil (Wallace) of DeRidder, LA, Claire Reeves (Larry) of DeRidder, LA, and Linda Brown of Leesville, LA. Jerry's legacy also lives on through a host of nieces and nephews who were blessed to know his gentle spirit and loving nature.
To honor and celebrate the life of Jerry Lewis Stracener, a service will be held on March 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Lone Star Baptist Church, located on Lone Star Baptist Church Rd. in Pitkin, Louisiana. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jerry are invited to join in remembering the joyful, compassionate, and adventurous soul that he was.
