In Loving Memory

Jerry Lee Spurgeon Jr.
July 26, 1966 — October 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Spurgeon Jr., who left us on October 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Born on July 26, 1966, in Logansport, Indiana, Jerry was a man whose spirit and kindness touched everyone he met.
Jerry was the beloved son of the late Jerry Spurgeon Sr. and Judith Spurgeon-Blankenship (née Surface), and the devoted father of the late Justin Spurgeon. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Spurgeon.
His memory lives on through his brothers, Robie and Mike, and his sisters, Rebecca, Melissa, and Theresa. His Aunt Paula and cousin Jessica (Jason), and many nephews and nieces were also dear to his heart. Jerry's legacy of love and warmth extends to his daughters Sara, Patricia (Cassie), Deshae, Stacey (Nelson), and Ashlie (Dan), as well as his sons Stanley Jr. and Patrick (Regina). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Jerry's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a passion for the simple joys. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he relished every moment spent with them. They were his pride and joy, and the bond he shared with them was unbreakable.
A true lover of the great outdoors, Jerry found peace and happiness in fishing. It was on the water, with a fishing rod in hand, that he felt most at home. He had an infectious sense of humor, and his jokes could light up a room. Jerry had a unique ability to open his heart to people, making them feel cherished and understood within moments of meeting him. His signature greeting, "whatcha dooinnn," will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with love and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jerry's memory, as a testament to the kindness and generosity he embodied.
Jerry's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As his family lovingly says, "Forever in our Hearts."
