Tulare, California
It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jerry Duvall, who left this world peacefully on April 4, 2026, at the age of 81. Jerry's journey, filled with love, laughter, and resilience, began on May 9, 1944, in the close-knit community of Tulare, California.
Jerry was born to the late Homer and Ella Mae (Berry) Duvall, whose values of hard work and kindness he carried throughout his life. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Charles Duvall, and his cherished sisters, Ruby Ball and Viva Hammonds, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
Jerry's life was a tapestry woven with the warmth of family and friends. He shared 18 memorable years of marriage with Eloise McCool, with whom he raised three wonderful children. For the past 50 years, he was blessed with the loving companionship of Sandy Freeman, his devoted life partner, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons.
Jerry's legacy lives on through his children: his daughter, Katherine Lynette Foster; his son, Michael Duvall and wife Virginia; and his son, Jerry Duvall and wife Janet. His spirit and laughter echo in the lives of his grandchildren, Emery Foster, Eloise Thomas, and Wade Duvall, and his great-granddaughter, Hailey Foster, who brought him immeasurable joy.
An alumnus of Exeter High School, Jerry's professional journey was as diverse as it was fulfilling. He found his niche in agriculture, honed his skills in sandblasting, and excelled as a painting and interior design contractor. His keen eye for detail was matched only by his dedication to his craft.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jerry was a man of many passions. An avid game chicken enthusiast, his love for the natural world was evident in his bird watching and gardening pursuits. His garden was not just a place of beauty, but a sanctuary where he found solace and peace.
Jerry's laughter was infectious, and his heart was vast. He was the friend you could count on to brighten any room, to turn the mundane into the extraordinary with his humor and warmth. His ability to make others laugh was a gift he shared generously, leaving a smile on the faces and hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Jerry's life will take place on May 9, 2026, a date that would have marked his 82nd birthday. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude's, an organization close to Jerry's heart.
As we say goodbye, we hold close the memories of a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed heartily. Jerry Duvall's spirit will remain a guiding light for his family and friends, a testament to a life of love, courage, and joy.
