Jerry Donald Branham

March 27, 1939 — July 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Donald Branham, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on July 9, 2026, at the age of 87 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. Born on March 27, 1939, in Grundy, Virginia, Jerry lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to his family and community. Jerry was the beloved son of the late Auty Branham and Madaline Jean Mosrie Branham. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Janice Sullivan Branham, and his dear sisters, Mabel Compton and Barbara Keen. As the last surviving member of his immediate family, Jerry's memory will continue to live on through his loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a special friend. He leaves behind his son, Jerry Branham, Jr., and his wife Becky of Abingdon, Virginia; his daughter, Cynthia Branham Talley, and William Woodworth of Newport Richey, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Faith Boyce, Denyse Coram, LeAnn Rose, Jessica Rightmire, and David Talley, Robyn Wolfe. His love and wisdom will be passed down to his great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Coram, Alan Coram, Allie Rose, Aaron Rose, Lenna Kate Talley, James Talley, and the newest addition to the family, baby boy Talley. Jerry will also be fondly remembered by his special friend, Linda Branham. Jerry's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. He was a retiree of the VP2 Island Creek Coal Company, where he worked as a coal miner and equipment operator. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his dedication to the Sandy Valley Masonic Lodge #17 in Grundy, Virginia, where he was a respected member for over sixty years. Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid lover of nature and the great outdoors, always finding peace in spending time with his family and taking care of his lawn. He was a passionate hunter and a man who found fulfillment in the fruits of his labor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, as a tribute to Jerry's generous spirit and caring nature. Jerry Donald Branham will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His family finds solace in the memories shared and the love that will endure in their hearts forever.
