September 27, 1957 — February 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry Don Kindle, cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on February 17, 2026. Jerry left this world surrounded by the warmth and love of his family at his home in Palo Alto, California, at the age of 68. Jerry was born on September 27, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Pearl Lee Kindle and George W. Kindle. Raised alongside his siblings, Jerry developed a deep sense of family that would become the cornerstone of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, David Kindle, and sister, Barbara Ann Kindle. He is survived by his devoted sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Georgia Lee Kindle, who were his lifelong companions and confidantes. A proud veteran, Jerry served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1974, achieving the rank of Sergeant. His dedication and service were a testament to his character and commitment to protecting and serving others. Jerry's academic journey led him to the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors in 1984, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. His education opened the door to a fulfilling career in banking, where he spent 30 years as a dedicated teller at US Bank in Palo Alto, CA. His colleagues remember him as a man of integrity, patience, and kindness, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Outside of work, Jerry was a man of many passions. A devout churchgoer, he lived his faith through action, volunteering tirelessly with the YMCA after-school programs, guiding and inspiring the youth to find their path. His love for the great outdoors found expression in his favorite pastime, fishing, where he spent many tranquil hours. Yet, it was in the company of his grandchildren—Aryana Spencer, Damion Spencer, Jamar Spencer, Joshua Spencer, and Eric Spencer—that Jerry found his greatest joy. He cherished every moment with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Jerry's sense of humor was legendary among family and friends. Known for his infectious laughter and knack for storytelling, he had a unique ability to bring joy to any room. His jokes and playful spirit brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. A service to honor and celebrate Jerry's life will be held on March 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Mortuary, located at 660 Donahoe St, East Palo Alto, CA 94303. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and remember a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the YMCA's youth programs, a cause close to Jerry's heart. Jerry Don Kindle's legacy of love, laughter, and service lives on in those he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
