In Loving Memory

Jerry Ditch Barrett
October 6, 1988 — August 15, 2013
In the embrace of cherished memories and profound loss, we announce the passing of Jerry Ditch Barrett, who left this world far too soon on August 15, 2013. Born on October 6, 1988, in the heartlands of Oklahoma, Jerry's life, though brief, was filled with warmth, music, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
Jerry was the beloved son of Tracy and Steven Barrett, who, along with his brothers Steven and Josh, and sister Heather Gregory, continue to celebrate the life he lived. Jerry's legacy also lives on through his treasured son, Jared Barrett, who embodies the spirit and joy Jerry brought into this world.
The shadows of grief are lightened by the echoes of Jerry's laughter and the strumming of his guitar, which filled family gatherings with joy and harmony. His love for cowboy hats and music was a testament to his free spirit and deep-rooted connection to his Oklahoma heritage. Jerry's songs continue to resonate, playing back in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to hear him sing.
A proud graduate of Charles Page High School in the early 2000s, Jerry's journey was marked by dedication and hard work. His commitment shone brightly throughout his career at Spoon Drug, where he served as a loyal manager. Jerry was not just a manager but a friend and confidant, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His tall stature and warm smile left an indelible mark, greeting all who knew him with a comforting presence that will be dearly missed.
Though predeceased by his grandparents, Max and George Barrett, Jerry's connection to his family roots was strong and enduring. His parents, Tracy and Steven, would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported them through this difficult time, especially the staff whose dedication and care were invaluable to Jerry's life and legacy.
A service to honor and remember Jerry will be held on November 14, 2013, at 12:00. This gathering will offer an opportunity for all who knew and loved him to come together in celebration of a life that, although tragically cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and music.
In these moments of reflection, we find solace in knowing that Jerry's smile, once lighting up the room, now shines down from above, watching over us with the same warmth and love he shared during his time on Earth. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, a gentle reminder of the beauty and joy he brought into our lives.
