Jerome Eugene Vann, a cherished husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this life on October 26, 2026. Born on December 5, 1941, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jerome was the beloved son of Basil and Laliah Vann. He was preceded in death by his dear parents and sister, Audrey Vann, whose memories he held close to his heart. Jerome's life was a tapestry woven with love, quiet strength, and dedication. A devoted husband to Sally Vann, he found joy in their shared love for fishing, where the serene moments on the water created a bond that was as deep as it was enduring. His love for the Minnesota Vikings was legendary, a passion he followed with zeal, cheering them on with an unwavering spirit. Known for his meticulous care of his lawn, Jerome took pride in maintaining a beautiful outdoor space, which was a reflection of his commitment to creating a warm and welcoming home. His love for barbecuing brought family and friends together, where laughter and stories shared over a meal became treasured memories. Jerome's life was enriched by his family, including his sisters Marietta Smith and Laverne Vann, and his seven cherished grandchildren. His legacy lives on through his step-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a multitude of cousins and friends who were touched by his presence. Though Jerome was not one to openly display his emotions, his love and care were evident in his actions and the quiet strength he provided to those around him. His gentle, loving nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him. A service to honor Jerome's remarkable life will be held on November 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Life Community Church, located at 3700 Bryant Ave N.
