Jermaine Love

February 4, 1974 — April 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jermaine Love, a beloved father, brother, son, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on April 4, 2026, at the age of 52. Jermaine was born on February 4, 1974, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, a place that would forever hold his roots and where he cultivated a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jermaine was the beloved son of Jeanette Love and Jerry Woods, who instilled in him the values of compassion, resilience, and the importance of family. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Vernon and Ular Mae Long, who were the bedrock of his early life, his beloved child, Jamya Love, whose memory he carried with him every day, and his siblings, Roshondia Perkins and Edwin Perkins. Jermaine also mourned the loss of his aunts, Miller Johnson, Vera Jones, and Lorene Woodson, as well as his uncles, Vernell Long and Jerry Long. A man of many talents, Jermaine was known for his soulful singing voice and his ability to bring joy to others as a natural comedian. His laughter was infectious, and his music touched the hearts of all who were fortunate to hear it. His presence would light up any room, and his humor provided comfort even in the toughest of times. Jermaine's legacy continues through his children, who were his pride and joy: Javonta Love, Kaniesha Love, Alexius Randolph, Jasmine Love, and Jermaine Love Jr. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness and who will carry forward his spirit and love for life. Jermaine is survived by a large, loving family, including his siblings: Tosha Love, Tobias Woods, Jarvis Woods, Tanesha Woods Crowder, Chiquita Love (Tiras) Smith, Edward Love, Edwonna Love, Marcus Perkins, and Morrie Perkins. He leaves behind his Aunt Rosie Long and Uncle James Long, alongside four aunts and three uncles, whose lives he enriched with his kindness and generosity. Additionally, his memory will be cherished by five grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close to their hearts. To honor Jermaine's life and legacy, a celebration of life service will be held on April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Community Christian Fellowship Church, located at 870 Nate Wells Dr, Benton Harbor, MI. Family, friends, and all whose lives Jermaine touched are invited to join in remembering a man who was truly one of a kind. Jermaine Love leaves behind a legacy of laughter, music, and love that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. As we say our final goodbyes, let us celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the indelible mark he has left on this world. Rest in peace, dear Jermaine. Your song will never fade.
