November 25, 1951 – November 10, 2025 With heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss, we announce the passing of Jerilyn "Jeri" Ray Johnson on November 10, 2025. Jeri left this world peacefully after a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer, with her devoted husband, Tom, lovingly by her side. Born on November 25, 1951, to Jerome and Solveig Jevning, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Jeri was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Jeri’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was the devoted wife of Tom Johnson, whom she married in 2019, and the former spouse of Tom Miller, with whom she shared 25 meaningful years and two wonderful children. Her children, Jennifer and Trent Buness, Eric and Jennifer Miller, and Erica and Kyle Huffstetler, along with her son Sam Robinson, were the pride and joy of her life. Her brother, Steve Jevning, also survives her, carrying forward the family bond she cherished so deeply. Jeri was blessed with eight grandchildren—Courtney and Tyler Meyers, Collin and Allie Buness, Tyler, Emily, Cally, Hannah, and Hunter Miller—who brought light and laughter into her life. Her legacy continues with her three great-grandchildren, Harper and Hope Meyers, and Kayden Buness, who will grow up surrounded by stories of her love and generosity. Jeri's journey through life was marked by her dedication and hard work. After graduating from Coon Rapids High School in 1969, she embarked on a career that spanned many years at Precision Associates before retiring from Target Corporation. Even in retirement, Jeri found joy and purpose working part-time at Furniture and Things, ever active and engaged with the world around her. Her passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Jeri was an avid bowler, playing in various leagues and delighting in the camaraderie and competition. She was a sports enthusiast who loved watching her children and grandchildren excel in their respective sports, from softball to hockey. Her true passion was golf, a love that found its perfect setting in the sunny climes of Arizona, where she could play year-round. Beyond her hobbies, Jeri’s greatest gift was her ability to touch lives with her kindness and generosity. Her smile was a source of comfort and joy, her laughter infectious, and her care for others profound. She was a selfless soul who gave one of her kidneys to her brother in a time of need, exemplifying her unwavering love and sacrifice for family. Jeri was a voracious reader of romance novels and a dedicated sports fan. She was a woman who listened without judgment, offered wisdom and warmth, and always found the humor in life's challenges. A celebration of Jeri's life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Hawk's Sports Bar and Grill, located at 9697 Hart Blvd, Monticello, MN 55362. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Hawk's for accommodating this day of remembrance. They also express their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their compassionate words and support during this difficult time. Jeri Ray Johnson will forever be in our hearts, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose spirit will live on in the love she shared and the lives she touched.
