Jerald Houston Snyder, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on November 10, 2025, surrounded by his three children. Born on November 17, 1949, in Harpersville, Alabama, Jerald lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication to his family and country. Jerald was the cherished husband of Sherry Sue Snyder, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey together began on August 12, 1959, when Jerald married his beloved Sherry Sie Smith. Together, they built a loving family that includes three devoted children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A proud veteran, Jerald served in the United States Navy, embodying the values of honor and duty that he carried throughout his life. His time in the Navy instilled in him a deep sense of commitment and pride, which he imparted to his family and community. Jerald's life was rich with love and laughter, and he cherished every moment spent with his family. He was a guiding light and a source of strength to those who knew him. His warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and his legacy will continue to live on through his family. Jerald was predeceased by his parents, his granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry, their three children, and their extended family, who will carry forward his memory with love and admiration. In keeping with Jerald's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting Jerald's generous and giving spirit. Jerald Houston Snyder will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
