It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jera Jeanine Morris on July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in a hospital room filled with warmth and memories. Jera was born on May 8, 1960, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Judy and Frank Morris, who have since predeceased her. Her journey on this earth was one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family and country.
Jera's life was marked by the incredible joy she brought to all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and generous smile illuminated every room she entered, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. She graduated from Lingle-Ft Laramie High School in 1978 and soon after, answered the call to serve her country. Jera proudly served in the US Army, including a stationing in Germany, and later continued her commitment to service in the US National Guard.
Family was the cornerstone of Jera's life. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, often engaging in creative crafts that filled their homes with color and happiness. Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Dusti Stanaford, and her son, Paul Morris, Jera's enduring love lives on in her surviving daughter, Stephanie Morris. Her legacy further extends to her cherished grandchildren, Nichole Parker, Jera Stanaford, Karlie Morris, Emily Zimmerman, and Braxton Whittaker, as well as her great-granddaughter, Gabriella Parker.
Jera's familial bonds stretched wide, encompassing her dear sisters, Lori Adams and Yvonne Morris, as well as her nieces Mandy Nation and Jenny Adams, and nephews Bo Morgan, Frankie Adams, and Frank Morgan. Her extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, will remember her as a guiding light whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all their lives.
Though she has departed from this world, Jera's spirit remains a beacon of joy and compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jera's honor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to kindness and giving.
As we bid farewell to Jera Jeanine Morris, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family and service. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
