Jenny L. Montandon Richardson passed away on July 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and a life lived with curiosity and generosity. Born in Hastings, Oklahoma Jenny moved frequently throughout her child and early adulthood, a rhythm of change that shaping her gift for making every place she lived feel welcoming and beautiful. She spent many joyful years in the Bay area, where she and her husband, Wally Richardson, embraced a life filled with adventure, community, and creativity. Later Jenny settled into a warm, lovely neighborhood in El Dorado Hills, California. Jenny delighted in tea rooms, bridge parties, church picnics and trips to the City. She loved Truckee/Tahoe, picnicking in Golden Gate Park, visiting the Japanese Tea Garden, exploring the Aquarium and introducing her children and grandchildren to the arts through museums, symphonies, musicals, and art lessons. She had a talent for creating beautiful living spaces for her family. She volunteered generously throughout her life, contributing her time and heart to the Coyote Museum (CuriOdessy), Assistance League, PEO and SIRS. One of her most cherished traditions was handing out pens and small messages of kindness- a gesture she and Wally started together. Together, Jenny and Wally embraced a life of creativity and movement, such as, hiking, creating stained and fused glass, ballroom dancing, oil painting, establishing a bonsai club playing Bocce ball and running the Bay to Breakers. Their partnership was one of shared curiosity, joy and generosity. Jenny was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wally Richardson. She and Wally raised four children who carry her spirit forward: Linda Gargiulo (Dave), Deborah Campbell (Brian), Stan Richardson (Sandy), and Susan Lehner (Chris). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephew. Jenny's life was defined by kindness and a passion for the preservation of open lands, a reflection of her lifelong appreciation for nature and beauty. Her memory will be cherished.
