In Loving Memory

Jennifer Squires
August 5, 1979 — November 4, 2026
Jennifer Squires, a beloved daughter, devoted partner, cherished mother, and joyous grandmother, passed away on November 4, 2026, at the age of 47. Born in Danville, Arkansas, on August 5, 1979, Jennifer was the daughter of Gerald and Beverley Grinder. She was a bright presence in this world and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Jennifer's life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion. She shared her heart with the love of her life, Charles "Nic" Black, with whom she spent the last ten years in a relationship that began in the most humble of circumstances. Together, they made a home in a camper in Hector, living without water or electricity, yet their love blossomed and grew stronger each day. They were blessed with the opportunity to raise their grandson, Zayden, whom Jennifer affectionately called "Gigi" and Nic "Poe." The joy and fulfillment she found in raising Zayden were among her greatest treasures.
Jennifer had a remarkable career, dedicating 15 years to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she later found joy in cleaning condos and homes, bringing warmth and order to the spaces she touched.
Her love for the outdoors was an integral part of who she was. Jennifer found peace and happiness in hunting and fishing alongside Nic. The open skies and tranquil waters were her sanctuary, and she cherished every moment spent in nature's embrace.
Family was at the core of Jennifer's life. She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Beverley Grinder; her children, Anthony and Kolton Gutierrez, Bryce Brawner, and Emery Squires; and her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and Harlow Brawner, Addie Moudy, Eloise Gutierrez, and grandsons Zayden Witt and Edson Gutierrez. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jessica Booher and Tabitha McKinney, and brothers, Justin Farquhar and Richard Wright. Her grandparents, Clyde and Bonnie Grinder, and several uncles and aunts, predeceased her, yet their memories remained ever-present in her heart.
Jennifer's educational journey took her from Dardanelle to various schools during her middle and junior high years, before she proudly graduated from Fort Smith North Side. Her life was a tapestry of experiences and relationships that enriched her spirit and those around her.
A service to celebrate Jennifer's life will be held on November 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Marshall Baptist Church, located at 548 Highway 65 N. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and honor of a life well-lived.
