In Loving Memory of Jennifer Lynn Gregel
It is with heavy hearts yet warm memories that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Gregel, affectionately known as Jenny, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on July 7, 1969, in Northfield Village, Ohio, Jenny was a beacon of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for the natural world.
Jenny was the beloved daughter of Patricia Rowlette and Leonard Gregel, who predeceased her. She leaves behind her cherished siblings, Jeffery and Johnny, who will forever hold her close in their hearts. Her legacy of warmth and compassion also lives on through her nieces, Sierra and Skyler, and her nephew, Kyle, who adored their Aunt Jenny and the love she showered upon them.
A life devoted to the care and companionship of animals, Jenny began her career at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in animal care. Her passion for nurturing creatures great and small led her to become a Stable Manager at Brecksville Stables in Brecksville Reservation, where she spent many fulfilling years. Her journey continued at various barns, where she dedicated herself to the well-being of horses, goats, chickens, and even a llama. One of her most beloved roles was providing pet sitting and walking services, through which she formed lasting bonds with both her clients and their four-legged friends.
Jenny's heart was as vast as the gardens she tended. An avid lover of animals, she was known for her innate ability to connect with any creature she encountered, especially dogs, who always brought a twinkle to her eye. Her home was a sanctuary for creatures in need, often finding space in her garage or bedroom for those requiring care and rehabilitation.
Her hands were as busy as her heart was full, always out in the yard, nurturing her thriving garden or working on her favorite project, "The Fish Pond Waterfall" in the woods. Jenny found joy and tranquility in piecing together puzzles, completing over 50 of them, each preserved and proudly displayed as a testament to her patience and perseverance.
Jenny's life was a rich tapestry woven with faith, resilience, and an unparalleled dedication to the well-being of others, both human and animal. She was a fountain of advice for those seeking guidance on animal care, and her strong-willed nature and caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her immense personal strength and unwavering faith were a guiding light in times of darkness.
As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we carry forward her legacy by embodying the love and kindness she so effortlessly shared. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jenny's memory to your local animal shelter or wildlife rescue.
A celebration of Jenny's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember the joy she brought into our lives and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. In our memories, Jenny will forever remain a loving caretaker, a steadfast friend, and an unwavering advocate for the voiceless.
Rest in peace, dear Jenny. Your love and light will guide us always.
