July 22, 1962 — July 2, 2026

It is with profound sadness and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Jennie Lynn Davis (Oldaker), who departed this life peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the home she lovingly shared with her devoted spouse, James Simpson. Born on July 22, 1962, Jennie graced this world with her infectious laughter and compassionate spirit for nearly 64 years. Jennie was the cherished daughter of Florabell Helen and Harold Oldaker. She was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Keith and Melvin, her dear sisters, Margie and Laverne, and a handful of treasured fur babies who were part of her family. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her in their hearts: her devoted spouse, James; her son, Donald Scott; her daughter, Kesha; her niece, Gaytha Oldaker; and her adored dogs, Sissy and Honey. Jennie was also the proud grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. Jennie and James found love on a fateful Fourth of July in 2019, and their years together were filled with happiness and shared adventures. Jennie was a dedicated mother who raised two athletically gifted children, rarely missing a game and always cheering them on with pride. Her career began in West Texas, where she worked as a grocery clerk and bartender before advancing to administrative roles in large firms and the Department of Resources for the State of Texas. Specializing in procurement and purchasing, Jennie dedicated endless hours to honing her skills and generously sharing her knowledge with others. Jennie's love for life was as vibrant as the music she adored. With a passion for live bands and concerts, she was a lively spirit who found joy in crafting, sewing, and painting. Her love for the beach defined her soul, and Galveston Bay was her sanctuary for swimming and fishing. Her dogs were not just pets but cherished family members who shared in her love and laughter. Known for her quick wit and warm smile, Jennie was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her spontaneous nature and love for antiquing brought joy to many, and her humanitarian heart embraced everyone she met. Jennie's legacy of love, laughter, and lessons will continue to inspire those she touched. A private funeral ceremony will be held in her honor, a reflection of the intimate love she cherished with her family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the SPCA of Texas, located in Dallas, TX, in memory of Jennie's unwavering love for all creatures great and small. To Jennie, we say thank you for the lessons, the laughs, and the love. Until we meet again, Who's got us?
