Jennie C Aquino

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Jennie C. Aquino on September 17, 2026. Born on January 27, 1921, in Guanajuato, Mexico, Jennie was a beacon of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, a testament to the nurturing and close-knit bonds she cultivated throughout her life. Jennie was the cherished daughter of Jesus and Ambrosio Cortez. She shared 69 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Santos "Sam" Aquino, whom she joined in matrimony on March 3, 1937. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Jennie is preceded in death by her dear husband Sam, their sons Peter and Joey, daughter Sharon, and grandson Steven. She leaves behind a rich legacy through her surviving family: her sister, Francis Casillas; sons, David and Sol; daughter, Felisa; grandchildren: and great-grandchildren: who were the light of her life. Jennie's devotion to her family was matched only by her commitment to her community and church. A dedicated member of Our Lady of Solitude Church in Soledad, CA, Jennie was an active participant in the YLI, Guadalupe Society, and Alter Society. Jennie spent many instructing catechism, shaping the spiritual lives of many children. Jennie also served her community with pride as a poll worker and an active member of the PTA. Her hands were rarely idle, as she delighted in embroidery and crocheting, gifting her beautifully crafted works to friends and family. Jennie's radiant smile and upbeat demeanor will be missed by many. A viewing will be held at the Woodyard Funeral Home 395 East Street, Soledad, CA 93960 form 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Jennie C. Aquino will be held on October 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Solitude Church, located at 235 Main Street, Soledad, CA 93960. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 850 Abbott St, Salians, CA 93901 . Reception following the Burial Service will be held at the North Minister Church 315 E Alvin Dr Salinas, CA 93906 Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance of Jennie’s extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Jennie's heart. Jennie C. Aquino leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed but eternally remembered with love and admiration.
