In Loving Memory

Jenifer Turpin
April 11, 1965 — October 7, 2026
Jenifer Dawn Turpin was born to Paula Lu DePaiva and Donald Gene Burdick on April 11, 1965, in Alameda, CA. Her childhood upbringing and early school years were split up between San Jose, CA, Littleton, CO and then Raytown, MO where she attended Norfleet Elementary School from kindergarten to third grade. Her family then moved to Longmont, CO in 1974 where she attended St John's Catholic School up to the 8th grade. She transferred to South Park Junior High School and graduated from Niwot High School in 1983. Her first job was at Marnie’s Café, in Longmont, CO in the kitchen where she developed her love of the culinary arts. After completing Au pair school, she traveled to New Jersey where she was employed as a nanny for a family of 5 children.
She eventually relocated to San Mateo, CA and began her work in the corporate world with VISA. Her job involved traveling around the US which was one of the highlights and greatest pride of her career while working there. She put herself through night school graduating with her bachelor’s degree from the College of Notre Dame.
She moved to Union City, CA and in 2003 she gave birth to the love of her life Brodi Nicole Turpin. Jenifer was an amazing mother and was an involved, hands-on, backstage mom for Brodi's dance school as well as all other aspects of Brodi’s life. They both made many trips to Disneyland-Jenifer’s Favorite Place! Of course, it is all documented in her scrapbooking and the many photos she took!
While raising Brodi, Jenifer transitioned to a new career working as a self-employed bookkeeper in the SF Bay Area which allowed her flexibility to parent Brodi during her school years. In 2025 she retired from her position and relocated to Steilacoom, WA to be closer to her best friend Monica Ferreira.
Jenifer ‘s doors were always open and welcoming to all. She was a loyal, devout friend and was good at staying in touch. She loved socializing and was no stranger to throwing the BEST theme-based parties that were enjoyed by all.
Jenifer never lost her childlike interpretation of the world and had a special bond with children and youth whom she enjoyed, listened to, included, and guided with love and respect.
Her love of cooking always welcomed us into her home with delights she made with love. She never went anywhere without one of her homemade cakes, pies or fresh-baked sourdough bread to share. Jenifer loved of sewing and provided many quilts to the new members of her family & friends as well as an assortment of stuffed animals.
In her retirement, she embraced the hobby of gardening, canning, and baking pies with the seasonal fruit and vegetables that she grew in her yard. She had an apple tree that never stopped producing and was always looking for ways to manage the abundance! She enjoyed taking long walks with her fur girls Tikki and Boo.
Our Jenifer was non-stop and always up for a challenge and a new adventure. She was the Steilacoom social butterfly.
Rest in Peace Love. You will be missed.
