With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jenetta White, a cherished mother, grandmother, community beacon, and beloved friend to many. Jenetta departed this life peacefully on July 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with a stroke. Born on October 5, 1947, in Jackson, Mississippi, Jenetta was the daughter of the late Henry and Alberta White. Jenetta's life was a testament to love, resilience, and service. She grew up in a nurturing household that fostered her bright spirit and intrinsic kindness. Her journey in education began in her hometown, leading her to earn a high school diploma and later a college degree from the University of Detroit. It was in Detroit that she would lay the foundation for an illustrious 35-year career with General Motors, a tenure marked by dedication and excellence until her retirement in 2002. In September 1983, Jenetta married the love of her life, Louis White. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. She is survived by her devoted children, Toni Smith of San Antonio, Michelle (Tim) Turner of Arlington, Texas, and Michael (Haley) White, also of Arlington, Texas. Her legacy continues through her eight treasured grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her days. Jenetta was predeceased by her beloved sister Valeria in 2001, a loss she bore with grace and strength. Throughout her life, Jenetta was known for her bright smile and her unparalleled ability to uplift those around her with words of encouragement. Her passion for community activism was unwavering, and she dedicated countless hours to mentoring and inspiring the youth in her community. Her impact will be felt for generations to come. In accordance with Jenetta's wishes, a private funeral service will be held on July 25, 2026, bringing together family and close friends in a celebration of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jenetta's memory to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, contributing to a cause close to her heart. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Lakeside Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan, for their compassionate care and support during Jenetta’s final days. Jenetta White's life was a beautiful journey of love, service, and dedication. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
